Aloha Kitty...

I had to show off this cute card I got from Teresa for the One Card Swap in July. Isn't it adorable?! I was really bummed that I missed the deadline to sign up for August's One Card Swap....I'll have to be more on the ball and make sure I get in for September. It's a great way to get ideas for cards, and meet new people too! Go to Big Ideas from a Little Girl for more info.

Use Up Those Scraps!

For some reason, I have a hard time making cards for boys. I needed a few to send to some of my nephews for their birthdays and got some inspiration from here.

What I loved about this card was that I could use up my scraps (I have lots!), and that they didn't necessarily have to match. The colors all go together and look great!
Yes...I made a 'girl version' too! I'm excited to make more of these cards and hopefully get my scrap stash under control!

One Card Swap...

I signed up for the One Card Swap that Big Ideas From a Little Girl hosts every month. The cards I make are very simple compared to most, so I hope my partner doesn't think she was jipped!!

This is what I came up with. I loved this Pixie Stix idea and used her template for my card.
I'm sending it off in the mail today... I hope my partner likes it!!

I've seen some cute bookmark tutorials lately and figured I'd share one that I found last September. Using this tutorial, I made a bunch to have on hand for birthday gifts, as well as some matching altered notebooks to go with them.

I love that the elastic is used to keep the bookmark in place! Genius idea!
My kids love using them as much as I do! Start saving your cereal boxes and give them a try!

Boredom Buster...

My 10-year-old daughter was bored the other day (hard to believe!) and came up with this cute project. She used some tin foil, scissors, glue dots, and her imagination and came up with these cute tin foil animals.

I am constantly amazed at her creativity! This picture really doesn't do her creations justice...they were amazing in person!!

When your kids get bored, pull out the tin foil and see what they come up with!! I'm sure you'll be pleasantly surprised!!

Patriotic Cupcakes...

If you're looking for an easy dessert idea for this weekend, try these!! I found the idea here, but instead of making mine with 5 colors, I just used red, white, and blue.
I'm excited to try this same idea for other holidays too. Think how cool they'd look using Christmas colors....and Valentine colors.....and pastels for Easter! Yummy!!
