'You Made My Day' Card

One of my newest favorite tools
is the flower punch from SU!'s Itty Bitty Punch set.

Earlier this week I shared 2 cards
using the negative space of the punch.
Instead of throwing the flowers away,
I decided to make another card with them :)
I really hate to waste any of my paper scraps.

These are from my favorite color combo at the moment:
Crumb Cake, Coastal Cabana, and Calypso Coral.
They are so pretty together!

The sentiment is from SU!'s 'And Many More' stamp set.

Another simple card that packs a punch!

Card inspiration came from HERE.

Supplies Used (all are from SU! unless otherwise noted):
Paper: Whisper White, Coastal Cabana, Crumb Cake, Calypso Coral
Ink: Jet Black StazOn
Stamps: And Many More
Other: Itty Bitty Accents Punch (flower), Pearl Basic Jewels,Whisper White Note Cards

One Card, Two Different Looks

So I mentioned in my last post that I'm going back to my first love.
Simple card making.

Today I'm going to share 2 cards.
Both are made the same exact way,
but I used different cardstock and stamp sentiments
to change them up a bit.

Up first, one of my favorite color combinations:
Crumb Cake, Coastal Cabana, and Calypso Coral.

I'm really, really, really sad that Coastal Cabana is retiring.
Super sad face :(

The sentiment is from SU!'s Painted Petals stamp set.
Such a great one!

For the second card, I used 2014-16 In Colors:
Blackberry Bliss, Mossy Meadow, and Tangelo Twist.

The sentiment comes from the Sale-a-bration stamp set, 'Big Day'.

These were such fun cards to make.
And the best part?
You guessed it...they were simple!

I'm looking forward to making more with different color combinations...
I'll be for sure using SU!'s 2015-17 In Colors :)
Have you seen them?
One word....Fabulous!

Inspiration for these cards came from HERE.

Supplies Used (all are from Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted):

Ink: Jet Black StazOn
Paper: Whisper White, Crumb Cake, Coastal Cabana, Calypso Coral, Blackberry Bliss, Mossy Meadow, Tangelo Twist

Simple Card Set with Matching Box

Long ago, I used to make very simple cards.
I loved that I could make lots of cute cards
in a relatively short amount of time.

Somehow, I've gotten away from simple.
I've been trying my hand at making more elaborate cards
and trying new techniques.
It has been fun, and I've learned a lot...

But I miss simple.

After taking a little break from card making,
I'm ready to dive back into my first love.

Simple cards.

Like this...

The inspiration for these cards came from HERE.

And a close up shot...

I decided to make a matching box for the cards.
I put 6 cards & envelopes in this one, but there was room for more.

The box was made using THIS TUTORIAL.

I had so much fun making these cards and box!
I ended up giving them to my SIL for her birthday,
but they would also be great for a Mother's Day gift.
It'll be here before we know it!

Stay tuned for more simple, beautiful cards :)

Supplies Used (all are from Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted):
Paper: Coastal Cabana, Calypso Coral, Whisper White, Best Year Ever DSP
Stamps: Flower Patch, And Many More
Ink: Calypso Coral
Other: Banner Punch, Scalloped Edge Punch, Pearl Basic Jewels, Flower Fair Framelits, Calypso Coral Ribbon

Quick Happy Birthday Card

The last 2 months have been a whirlwind.

My husband and I closed on our very first home on December 1st.
Then began the overwhelming task of packing, unpacking,
and figuring out where to put everything.
We're still working on it,
but are finally starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Most of the boxes are unpacked,
and our house is starting to feel like our HOME.

The very last room to get tackled has been my craft room.
After getting most of the room put together,
I had to take a break and make a few cards.
Because that IS what you do in a craft room ;)

I went with one of my favorite layouts
and used some retired SU! paper to make some birthday cards
(I 'm already behind on sending these out for 2015).

Here's my cards...

The 'Happy 'Birthday' stamp
is from the Big Day stamp set
from Stampin Up!'s Sale-a-bration catalog.
I just LOVE it!

There's still some organizing to do in my craft room
(and throughout the whole house),
but I'm super excited to actually have a craft room!
I'm sure I'll be spending lots of time in there :)

Supplies Used (all are from SU! unless otherwise noted):
Stamps: Big Day Stamp Set
Ink: Blackberry Bliss, Tangerine Tango
Paper: Whisper White, Kraft Cardstock (non SU!), Sycamore Street DSP (retired)
Tools: 2" Circle Punch (non SU!), 2" Scalloped Circle Punch (non SU!), 1-3/4" Circle Punch, Owl Punch, Project Life Corner Rounder Punch

A group of ladies in my area had a 'Christmas in July' craft day,

This card was by far the most difficult one for everyone to make.

We ended up making 2 of each card, plus a card holder to put them all in.
Everyone had a blast and loved their finished set of cards!

'Congratulations' Card

A group of ladies in my area had a 'Christmas in July' craft day,
and invited me to come up with some cards for one of the projects.
(Yes, the craft day was in July.  I'm dreadfully late in posting about it).

After happily agreeing to do it, I set out trying to find the perfect cards to make.
Some ladies who came to the craft night had no experience making cards,
while others had lots of experience.
My job was to find cards that both sets of ladies could easily make,
and I think we came up with some winners :)

Over the next week or so, I'm going to share all 4 cards,
as well as the card holder we made.
Be prepared for some serious cuteness :)

Card #1: Congratulations
(inspired by THIS CARD)

This card was probably the easiest of the 4, but is one of my favorites!

Paper: Crumb Cake, Mossy Meadow, Whisper White, All Abloom DSP Pack

they just sat and sat :(

Inspiration struck when I saw this card,

Here's my version...

Have a great Monday!

2014 Father's Day Cards

It's hard to believe, but Father's Day is just around the corner.

I wanted to be ahead of the game this year and get my cards made early.
(I'm really good at waiting until the last minute to do things ;)

Luckily for me, Brian King shared an adorable card that was perfect for Father's Day.
(if you're not familiar with Brian, you really must check out his blog.  You will be inspired, I PROMISE!).

Here's what I came up with...

 All 3 together...

The cards were the easy part.

Now I've got to decide on gifts to go with the cards.
