Whole Wheat Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies

I decided to try something a little different to use up my leftover green M&M's from THIS post. Whole wheat flour in a cookie? I was a bit skeptical of how it would taste, but I tried it. And LOVED it!!

You can find the recipe for these HERE at Kara's Kitchen Creations.

Initial Coat/Backpack Board

This picture isn't the greatest......sorry!!

After tripping over my kids' coats and backpacks one too many times, I decided enough was enough!! With the help of my sweet husband, I made this coat/backpack board for the kids.
They each have 2 hooks....one for their coat, and one for their backpack. And I decided to put their initials above the hooks to eliminate any fighting about whose hook was whose! So far they have been excited about hanging up their stuff as soon as they get home from school. Hopefully it will last!!

To make this, I:

**grabbed a board from our wood pile
**spray painted it with 3 coats of "Chocolate Brown" spray paint
**had the hubby buy 5 hooks....then sent him back to the store to return the first ones he bought to get the right ones!! ;)
**let the hubby screw in the hooks
**used the Cricut to cut out the initials
**Mod Podged the initials on

It was a quick project that has brought a little more organization to our home!!

Sew Cute Tuesday {3.02.10}

I had so much fun looking at all the great projects linked up last week....keep them coming!! I know I'm not the only one adding to my "To Do" list as a result!!

Here's this weeks features:

I LOVE the material Crafty Girls Workshop used for her cute Pincushion Cuffs!

Sew Fun! made a cute Padded Camera Pocket. I love that the pattern she shows could be used to make a lot of different things!!

I totally need to make some of these Dish Towel Bibs for my 2-year-old boy!! See how at Ten Cow Chick.

And I loved how Crafts reDesigned made a flap for her Crayon Rolls!

Feel free to grab a "Featured" button on my sidebar ladies!!

Now, for the nitty gritty!! Remember to link up sewing projects only (can be hand sewn, or sewn by machine). I'll keep MckLinky open until Friday night so you'll have plenty of time to link up your projects!

Twirly Skirts & Matching Flower Bows

I'm a little late in posting these....I actually made them for 2 of my girls for Valentine's Day!!

The bigger skirt looks crooked, but I promise, it's not!! I used THIS tutorial from She Does Hair.
I never got around to making my other 2 girls theirs in time for Valentine's Day. Next time I'll have to start a lot sooner!!

Here's the matching flower bows I made for my youngest daughter. I can't find the blog that I got the instructions from....if anyone knows where it is, please share so I can give the proper credit!!
Both girls loved them and were proud to wear their new skirts for Valentine's Day!
