Baby Shower Gift

A few weeks ago, I mentioned that I had been working on a sewing project, but had to wait to show you what I was making.  Well, the wait is over!

I've got 2 sister-in-laws that are expecting baby girls in the next few months.  This is the first for both of them, so I wanted to make something fun for their baby showers.

One of them had her baby shower last weekend, and here's what I made for her.

The baby's name is going to be Nadia, so I appliqued an 'N' on a onesie.  Making appliqued onesies has been on my 'To Do List' for years, and I don't know why I waited so long to give it a try.  Easiest gift ever, and it turned out adorable too!

The next part of my gift was these handmade baby shoes.  I am SO in love with these!!  The pattern can be purchased HERE from Make It and Love It.

And the final part of my gift was these cute baby bows.  I wanted the bows to match the fabric on the onesie & shoes, and found some ribbon in my stash that matched perfectly.  Love it when that happens! (the tutorial I used for the bows can be found HERE).

I wasn't able to attend the baby shower, but was told that my gift was a big hit!!

I've got 2 more sets to show you in the coming weeks.  One set got sent off to a friend in the mail yesterday (she's expecting her baby girl at the end of this month), and the last one will be given to my other sister-in-law in a few weeks.  Since I don't want to spoil the surprise, I'll wait until they've received their gifts before I share them on here!

My Spin on the Pin {3.09.12}

I hope you all aren't getting tired of seeing CARDS!!  It's no secret that making cards is one of my most favorite things to do, and when I see a fabulous one like THIS CARD, it gets pinned onto my Card Ideas Board.  Most of the time, I can handle waiting for a few days or even a few weeks before I sit down and make a card based on one of my pins, but that wasn't the case this time.  I was so excited, that I had to make one that same day!

Here's My Spin on the Pin...

I used up some of my scraps for this card, and the sentiment stamp is from the Sentiment Sampler set by Paper Smooches.

These pictures make it look like the squares aren't evenly spaced, but I promise that they are!!  Nothing bothers me more than when I put something crooked or uneven on my cards.

This card seriously makes me SMILE.  I just love it!

Happy Pinning!

Oopsie!!

I've been busy the last couple of days and {totally} spaced the 'My Spin on the Pin' post for today.  My clogging class is preparing for a competition tomorrow....so that's where my mind has been.  Wish us luck...I know they'll do GREAT!
