'It's Your Special Day' Card

It's been a while since I've had a chance to make cards.

And I've missed it!!

After taking the holiday season off from paper crafting,
I'm now itching to get back to it!

The inspiration for this card came
from the amazing Becky Roberts.
She shared a gift card/money holder card HERE
and it's been on my list of cards to try for a while now.

Here's my version...

The folded Top Note Die IS the card.
There's a pocket inside that's perfect
for holding a gift card or cold hard cash.
I ended up putting a small piece of velcro
on the side to help keep it closed.

Here's what it looks like with some $$ in the pocket.

My mustache punch is turning out to be a good investment!
I absolutely {love} it!

A tutorial for the folded Top Note Die can be found HERE.

I'm working on a 'girl version' of this card,
and will hopefully be ready to share it later this week!

Have a great Monday!

Snowman Tealight

**I'm posting this a little late!!
The holiday season was busy at our house,
and I never got around to sharing this project**

As soon as I saw THIS POST from Becky Roberts,
I just had to make a snowman tealight.
Then she came up with a cute BOX TUTORIAL
a few days later, and I had to make that too!
Here's how mine turned out:

As usual, I didn't have all of the supplies that Becky used,
so I had to make do with what I had on hand.
Since I didn't have any pearls in my stash
for the eyes and mouth, I ended up using
black cardstock and a very small circle punch.

I also didn't have any sweater trim for the scarf,
so I used some red ribbon.

This is such an adorable gift idea!!
If my girls and I decide to have a booth
at our town's holiday craft fair again this year,
we'll definitely be making these!

YW Lesson Handout

Happy New Year!!

Crazy to think that it's 2013!!  I swear, the older I get, the faster time seems to go!  Does it feel that way to anyone else, or is it just me?

This week I'm making final preparations for my very first solo lesson in Young Women's.  I've been studying the topic for weeks now, and feel pretty good about it.  I'm just hoping I don't get stage fright once I stand up in front of all our young women and leaders!!

The lesson I'm giving is "Who am I, and who can I become?" from the new 'Come Follow Me' curriculum.  Let me just say, I LOVE this new curriculum, and am SO excited to see the youth become more involved in the lessons!!

I had a handout idea in mind, and searched online to see if I could find one already made.  After searching for way too long, I decided to just make one myself.  The quote comes from President Dieter F. Uchtdorf's talk from a General Young Women Meeting titled, "Your Happily Ever After".

Making this handout sort of broke the ice for me.  I've always just relied on searching online for cute handouts, but now that I know I can do it myself, I just might make more!!

If you'd like to use this handout and would like a copy without the watermark, you can access the file HERE!

Merry Christmas!

"And she brought forth her firstborn son,
and wrapped him in swaddling clothes,
and laid him in a manger;
because there was no room for them in the inn."

Wishing you a very Merry Christmas
from our family to yours!!
