General Conference Quote Book (YW Activity Idea)

I was in charge of our last Young Women's activity, and came up
with this fun Paper Bag Quote Book for the girls to make.

Inside of the pages are different quotes from General Conference talks, and a place
where the girls can write any notes they took while listening to or reading the talks.

I just searched online for the quote printables, and printed them in wallet size to fit on the pages.

Another idea I had (but didn't quite finish), was to type up each talk that the quote came from and print them off small enough that they could fit in the pocket of the paper bag.
I only got this one done...and it took me forever to get it the right size!

Here's a shot of it inside the pocket.

I think instead, I'll just print off each talk, fold them up, and slip them inside the pockets.

It was fun to see which quotes the girls chose, and to watch them
put their little quote books together.

If you're interested in making your own:

HERE'S a good tutorial for the paper bag album.
* I've pinned a bunch of printable quotes HERE.
I made my own 'Notes' grid sheets, but they are based on THESE from Valorie Brown Designs.

A Few Cards...

It's been a few weeks since I've had the chance to make cards....I hate it when that happens!!  My time is being filled with my kids' activities right now.  If I can make it through the month of April, all will be well!!

Since life has been so crazy, I never got around to sharing some cards I made several weeks ago.  I was inspired by THIS CARD.  Here's my version:

I'm loving the layout of this card!!  Simple, but super cute!

Have a great weekend!

Where I've Been...

I'm trying to get back into the swing of things here.

Our Spring Break was extended by a few days so we could attend the funeral of my beloved Grandma.  We were able to spend a lot of time with her, and with my aunts, uncles, and cousins in the days before she passed.  It gave me time to reflect upon the wonderful life my Grandma lived.  She was truly an angel who did all she could to serve those around her.  If I could become half the woman she was, I would be lucky.

I took a LOT of pictures at her viewing and after the funeral.  I hope you won't mind if I share one of my favorites.

This is my Dad, saying goodbye to his angel of a Mother.  Brings tears to my eyes every time I see it.

Since we've been back, my life has been filled with soccer, Young Women Activities, and trying to catch up on chores and housework.  I don't know if I'll ever get caught up!  I haven't had time to 'create', but do have a few cards that I made a few weeks back to share with you.  Hopefully I can get around to posting at least one of them later this week.

Until then, have a great week!

'It's Your Special Day' Card

I haven't been able to get much craft time in lately, and it looks like that's not going to be changing anytime soon.  This time of year is always busy for us.  My oldest daughter is involved in our area's Recreation Volleyball League, and my other 4 kids are starting soccer.  So between clogging, the kids' sports, and Young Women activities, there's not a whole lot of extra time!!  But I love it, and wouldn't change a thing!

This card was inspired by the awesome Karen Pedersen.  Love her cards!!

And a close up shot.  The flower was made using this tutorial.  I'll definitely be making more of those!!

Have a great week!!

'Hello' & 'Thank You' Cards

There are days when the creative juices just aren't flowing.  I was having one of those days, and decided to look through the Spring/Summer 2013 Close to my Heart catalog to see if inspiration would strike.  Boy, did it ever!!

On page #37 (for those of you who have that catalog), there was the cutest card!  I loved it so much, that I dropped everything and made my own version.

Here's what I came up with:

I absolutely love this card design, and plan on making lots more cards with it!!

Have a happy Tuesday!
