Simple Card Set with Matching Box

Long ago, I used to make very simple cards.
I loved that I could make lots of cute cards
in a relatively short amount of time.

Somehow, I've gotten away from simple.
I've been trying my hand at making more elaborate cards
and trying new techniques.
It has been fun, and I've learned a lot...

But I miss simple.

After taking a little break from card making,
I'm ready to dive back into my first love.

Simple cards.

Like this...

The inspiration for these cards came from HERE.

And a close up shot...

I decided to make a matching box for the cards.
I put 6 cards & envelopes in this one, but there was room for more.

The box was made using THIS TUTORIAL.

I had so much fun making these cards and box!
I ended up giving them to my SIL for her birthday,
but they would also be great for a Mother's Day gift.
It'll be here before we know it!

Stay tuned for more simple, beautiful cards :)

' For Peeps' Sake' Treat Box

If you're still looking for treat ideas for Easter,
here's a fun one :)

I used the Tiny Treat Boxes from Stampin' Up!'s Occasions Catalog,
and created a little insert for the Cadbury Caramel Egg.

I think the Bow Builder Punch is going to be my newest 'favorite' tool!

Here's a tutorial for the box insert:
1. Cut cardstock to 2-15/16" x 2-15/16"
2. Score at 1/2" on all four sides
3. Punch out a 1-1/4" circle out of the middle
4. Cut up to score lines on all 4 sides, fold, and assemble

Hopefully that makes sense!

Have a fabulous day!

Supplies Used (all are from Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted):
Stamps: For Peeps' Sake
Ink: Calypso Coral, Hello Honey
Paper: Whisper White, Calypso Coral, Best Year Ever DSP (Sale-a-bration)
Other: Tiny Treat Boxes, Word Window Punch, Bow Builder Punch, 1-1/2" Circle Punch (non Su!), Scalloped Circle Punch, 1-1/4" Circle Punch

'Enjoy An Egg-cellent Easter'

I fell in love with the "For Peeps' Sake" stamp set
 from Stampin' Up!'s Occasions Catalog.

Such cute images!

Since Easter is almost here,
I figured I'd better get crackin',
and whip out some treats.

Here's one that I came up with...

I ended up repurposing a bottle like this
from some sweet & sour sauce.

All I did was remove the label,
wash it really good,
and spray paint the lid.

Here's a view from the side.

And a close up of the cute bow on top!

This was such a fun project!

Supplies Used (all are from Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted):
Stamps: For Peeps' Sake
Ink: Calypso Coral
Paper: Whisper White, Calypso Coral, Best Year Ever DSP (Sale-a-bration)
Other: Bow Builder Punch, 1" Circle Punch, Scalloped Tag Topper Punch, Project Life Corner Punch, Twine (non SU!)

Valentine Treat Boxes (sharing a little late)

I know Valentine's Day is over....,
but I still wanted to share some cute treat boxes
I made for a Valentine's exchange.

Stampin' Up!'s Envelope Punch Board was used to make the boxes.
I don't use that tool nearly enough!

Each box was filled with chocolate candy hearts like the ones in the picture.
Nothing beats getting a yummy treat packaged in a cute little box!

Here's what the back of the box looks like.
I wish I would've put some decorative paper inside.

And here's a close up of one of the boxes.
Pretty cute!

The idea for the treat boxes came from HERE.

Happy Friday!
Hope you have a fabulous weekend :)

Supplies Used (all are from Stampin' Up unless otherwise noted):

Ink: Real Red
Stamps: You Plus Me

Quick Happy Birthday Card

The last 2 months have been a whirlwind.

My husband and I closed on our very first home on December 1st.
Then began the overwhelming task of packing, unpacking,
and figuring out where to put everything.
We're still working on it,
but are finally starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Most of the boxes are unpacked,
and our house is starting to feel like our HOME.

The very last room to get tackled has been my craft room.
After getting most of the room put together,
I had to take a break and make a few cards.
Because that IS what you do in a craft room ;)

I went with one of my favorite layouts
and used some retired SU! paper to make some birthday cards
(I 'm already behind on sending these out for 2015).

Here's my cards...

The 'Happy 'Birthday' stamp
is from the Big Day stamp set
from Stampin Up!'s Sale-a-bration catalog.
I just LOVE it!

There's still some organizing to do in my craft room
(and throughout the whole house),
but I'm super excited to actually have a craft room!
I'm sure I'll be spending lots of time in there :)

Supplies Used (all are from SU! unless otherwise noted):
Stamps: Big Day Stamp Set
Ink: Blackberry Bliss, Tangerine Tango
Paper: Whisper White, Kraft Cardstock (non SU!), Sycamore Street DSP (retired)
Tools: 2" Circle Punch (non SU!), 2" Scalloped Circle Punch (non SU!), 1-3/4" Circle Punch, Owl Punch, Project Life Corner Rounder Punch

Easy Christmas Gift Idea with Free Printable

My kids needed some quick Christmas gifts for their friends,
and I remembered a cute gift one of them got a few years ago from a cousin.

It was just a can of soda pop and a bag of microwave popcorn
tied up in a cellophane bag with a tag that said:

Pop, Pop
Fizz, Fizz
Oh, what a good friend you is!

I searched online for some ready-made tags,
and didn't have much luck.

So I made my own :)

Here is how we packaged ours.
(I wish I would've bought larger cellophane bags)

If you'd like the tags without the watermark,
you can download it HERE.

Merry Christmas!

'Sweet is the Work of Personal Progress' YWIE 2014

This past Sunday was my ward's Young Women in Excellence.
(this is a program in my church for young women ages 12-18 to celebrate
what they've accomplished in the Personal Progress program throughout the year).

Our theme was
"Sweet is the Work of Personal Progress"
(based off THIS IDEA).

I wanted to incorporate the Young Women Value colors as much as possible,
but couldn't find any digital papers that had all 8 together.
So I used one that had most of them to make my own invitations and printables.

Here's our invitation
(with our ward name crossed out for privacy)

And I made this printable to put in a frame for display.
(Print your own without the watermark HERE).

Here it is framed that night.

We purchased this YW Value Kiss Stickers printable for our take-away treat for the girls,
and printed off the poster in wallet size for the tags.

The girls wrote their names on these to put by their table displays.
(Print one without watermark HERE).

And this one was made to use for our programs.

(Print without watermark HERE).

One of our Beehives made cupcakes for our refreshments...

...and we also had candy in the YW value colors.

Everything turned out wonderful,
and the girls really wowed us with their presentations!

A group of ladies in my area had a 'Christmas in July' craft day,

'Congratulations' Card

A group of ladies in my area had a 'Christmas in July' craft day,
and invited me to come up with some cards for one of the projects.
(Yes, the craft day was in July.  I'm dreadfully late in posting about it).

After happily agreeing to do it, I set out trying to find the perfect cards to make.
Some ladies who came to the craft night had no experience making cards,
while others had lots of experience.
My job was to find cards that both sets of ladies could easily make,
and I think we came up with some winners :)

Over the next week or so, I'm going to share all 4 cards,
as well as the card holder we made.
Be prepared for some serious cuteness :)

Card #1: Congratulations

This card was probably the easiest of the 4, but is one of my favorites!

Paper: Crumb Cake, Mossy Meadow, Whisper White, All Abloom DSP Pack

they just sat and sat :(

Inspiration struck when I saw this card,
