My Spin on the Pin {10.19.12}

My 2 youngest kids are in a 4H Clover Buds group that meets once a month.  October was my month to be in charge of the craft, and I had a hard time coming up with a craft at first.  Until I looked at my Halloween Ideas Pinterest Board and saw THIS PIN.

Here's My Spin on the Pin (and my 5 and 7 year old kids' too!)...

My 5 year old son made the pumpkin on the left, mine is in the middle, and my 7 year old daughter's is on the right.  Didn't they do a fabulous job?!

And they look really cool all lit up at night too!

To make this easy for the kids in the group, I ended up making little 'kits' for each of them with the tissue paper strips and pumpkin faces already cut out.  All the kids had to do was paint the Mod Podge on the jars, and add the tissue paper and faces.  Easy peasy!

Have a great weekend, and happy Pinning!

My Spin on the Pin {10.05.12}

I've been busy the last few weeks sewing.  And making paper craft items.  My girls decided that they wanted to have a booth in our town's annual holiday craft fair in November, and I told them that if they got enough stuff made to sell, we'd do it.  So far, I'm the only one who's been working on it.  We've still got a few weeks to go, so hopefully they'll get their bottoms in gear!  Otherwise, I guess I'll have lots of neighbor/friend gifts to give out this year!

THIS CARD from Amy at The Happy Scraps got my creative juices flowing!

Here's My Spin on the Pin...

Here's another one with the paper & sentiment changed up a bit...

Not only are these cards cute, but they came together really quick too.  I can't wait to make more!

Have a great weekend, and Happy Pinning!

My Spin on the Pin {9.21.12}

The last couple of weeks have been busy for this Momma!  And a busy momma = not much craft time!

I have several cards pinned that I'm dying to make, but THIS ONE is the only one I've gotten to so far.

Here's My Spin on the Pin...

Here's another card with the colors of the flower and scalloped circle switched around.  I'm still trying to decide which way I like it better.

Have a great weekend, and Happy Pinning!

My Spin on the Pin {8.31.12}

I couldn't help but love THIS CARD.   The stitching drew me in...I had to give it a try!

Here's My Spin on the Pin...

I ended up making two cards, but switched up the color of the flower to make them a little different.

These were fun to make.  I think I may have an addiction to sewing on my cards!  Atleast I'm getting some use out of my sewing machine!

Happy Friday, and happy Pinning!

My Spin on the Pin {8.24.12}

A week ago, I shared a card that I wasn't 100% pleased with.  After changing it up a bit, I ended up with a card that made me happy.

Here's my 2nd Spin on the Pin...

What I wasn't happy about on my first card was the ribbon.  I don't know why, but I just didn't like how it looked.  Rather than using ribbon on this card, I chose to put my stamped sentiment there instead.  And then blinged it up a bit with some pearls.

Since I already had the sewing machine out, I went ahead and made another one, but used a different flower in the center of the scalloped circle.

I like it a lot.

It's hard to see, but the center of the flower is raised up a bit with 3D foam squares.

So what do you think?  Do you like my first card better, or these ones?

Have a great Friday, and Happy Pinning!

My Spin on the Pin {8.17.12}

I've had my eye on THIS CARD for a while now.  The element that I loved the most was the zig zag stitching because it adds so much to the card.  Love it!

Here's My Spin on the Pin...

The papers I used came from the Amber Collection of Becky Higgins' Project Life Cardstock.

Yeah...I'm still in love with the stitching!

Although I really do love the stitching, I wasn't 100% happy with how my card turned out.  So I played with it some more, and made another version.  BUT, I'm going to make you wait until next Friday to see it.  'Cause that's just how I roll.

Have a great weekend, and Happy Pinning!

My Spin on the Pin {8.10.12}

Something that I love, but don't do enough of, is sewing on my cards.  I pinned THIS CARD specifically so I would remember to pull out my sewing machine.

Here's My Spin on the Pin...

My sewing needs work!!  Those lines aren't perfect, but they'll do.

This is the perfect card to use all those scraps up on.  I love that the paper doesn't have to be matchy-matchy (is that even a word?), but inking the edges helps pull it all together.

Have a great weekend....

...and Happy Pinning!

My Spin on the Pin {8.03.12}

I recently bought the Chevron Textured Impressions Embossing Folder from Stampin' Up!, and have been looking for the perfect project to use it on.  THIS CARD gave me the inspiration I needed.

Here's My Spin on the Pin...

I had to try it on a white card too...

Love, love, LOVE the chevron!!  Now that I've gotten my feet wet {so to speak} using the embossing folder, I can't wait to try making more cards with it!

I also decided to make a few cards using the Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.

I think I'll have to try making this card with other embossing folders, just to see how it changes the look of the card.

Have a great weekend, and Happy Pinning!

My Spin on the Pin {7.27.12}

I hope you don't grow tired of seeing me put my spin on cards all of the time, but I just can't seem to help myself!!  I absolutely {love} making cards, and there are so many great ideas on Pinterest, that I just have to pin them all!!

Today's card inspiration came from THIS PIN.

Here's My Spin on the Pin...

And just because I love this card so much, I made a second one with completely different colors.

Have a great weekend, and happy Pinning!!

My Spin on the Pin {7.13.12}

Happy Friday!!

As I was looking through my Card Ideas Board on Pinterest for some inspiration, THIS CARD caught my attention.  I loved the simplicity of it, and it looked as if it could me made pretty quickly.

Here's My Spin on the Pin...

I know I say this about every card I make, but I really LOVE this card!!

Have a great weekend, and happy pinning!

My Spin on the Pin {6.22.12}

Summer is in full swing at our house.  I've been trying to keep my kids busy so they won't fight, but some days are better than others!

With 5 kids home all day, there isn't much time for me to do anything crafty.  But I had to make an exception as soon as I saw THIS PIN.

Here's My Spin on the Pin...

The paper pieced cupcake is my favorite part of the card...

And here's another version...

The paper is from the Project Life Cardstock - Clementine Collection by Becky Higgins.  I am in LOVE with the stuff!

Have a great Friday, and happy Pinning!
