I'm changing up this blog a little bit. Instead of featuring only items that are for sale in my store, I'm now going to also post ideas for easy, cheap, and cute crafts. With my ever growing list of things I want to do, I figure the best way to keep track is to post about them!
This is a cute gift idea for any age. I've made them for birthdays, Christmas gifts, and Teacher gifts. I stocked up on these notebooks in September when they were on clearance at Target. I got packs of 5 notebooks for .10 cents. Yep, that comes to .02 cents a notebook!
To decorate them, all you need is decorative scrapbook paper(DSP) and mod podge. First, cut the DSP the same size as the notebook cover. Spread a thin layer of mod podge on the notebook cover and also on back of the DSP. Put the paper on the notebook cover and smooth out any bubbles. At this point, I'll usually put the notebook under something heavy to help it dry flat. When it's dry, sand the edges of the cover and then spread a thin layer of mod podge on top of the DSP (this seals the paper and gives it a nice finish). That's it! You can personalize it any way you want. I've used stickers to put a child's name on them, which is always a hit! You can also put ribbon along the spiral rings to hide the edge of the scrapbook paper. The options are limitless!
